WAGE:
First time guards: $15/hour
Returning guards: $15.25/hour
Guaranteed hours: 40 hours
Overtime: yes, sometimes, 1.5x base wage
Days per week: 5-6 days, hours per week: 40-45
Additional hours are possible at the beginning and end of the summer season. There may also be additional opportunities for work and compensation by teaching swim lessons or guarding swimming pool parties.
BONUSES:

If a lifeguard starts by May 22nd and stays until Labor Day (September 7th), they will receive $1,200, plus an additional $300 for the lifeguarding class (reimbursement in 1st paycheck in the USA).

If a lifeguard starts by May 29th and stays until September 7th, they will receive $900.

If a lifeguard starts by June 5th and stays until September 13th, they will receive $600.
Latest Start date June 15th.
Other bonuses:
- „Exchange Student of the Month“ – bonus of $100 for June, July, and August.
- „Best Exchange Student of the Season“ bonus. – $500
HOUSING:
The cost of housing is $195/week + a $200 nonrefundable administrative fee that must be paid before each guard arrives or deducted from the first paycheck (in addition to the cost of housing) and will include the uniform (swimsuit and one Douglas Aquatics branded shirt).
Utilities (gas, electricity, water, trash) are included in the monthly cost.
Apartments are furnished with beds, living room table and chairs, microwave, refrigerator, lamps, heat and air conditioning, kitchen table, dish washer, dryer.
Usually 5 or 6 people share the unit, 2 or 3 people per room, 2-3 bedrooms, living room, kitchen with stove, oven, refrigerator, sink. Students should provide their own linens and houseware. Kitchen dishes are provided.
