If you want to spend the summer just a few miles from Manhattan (two hours by train) and visit major attractions of New York on your days off, this is a perfect opportunity for you!

The employer wants to have most of the lifeguards to arrive by Memorial Day Weekend.

A valid ARC – American Red Cross certificate is required every year (also for returning participants).

Wage and housing

WAGE:

first time guards $17.00, returning guards $17.50

Overtime: may be available at the end of the summer, last 2 weeks (1.5 x wage)

Guaranteed hours: May – June 20, 2026 – 24-30 hours / Week of June 21, 2026 – 40 hours / August 15, 2026 through September 14, 2026 40+ hours

Days per week: 5-6, hours per week: 40 in average.

 

Bonuses: Community Tips – we had 2 lifeguards receive $1,000.00 bonus from their communities

$75.00 bonus for anyone who can arrive and be ready to work beginning May 23, 2026

 

Uniform: Estimated cost for lifeguard uniform $80. Female Guards must provide their own lifeguard swim suit.
Lifeguards will have vehicles that they may use for personal reasons when needed. In the US if your employer provides you with a car it is a major perk.

 

Start Date: latest 6th of June

Earliest End Date: 9th of September, preferred 14th of September.

 

HOUSING:

Estimated cost of housing per season $1750 (utilities and internet access are included) + deposit $300.

Apartments are furnished with beds, bedding (pillow, sheets, comforter or quilt), table and chairs, silverware, pots, plates, shower curtain, cleaning supplies, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, washer/dryer.

Usually 12 students share the house, 2 tenants per room, 6 bedrooms in the unit.

Transport and location

How to get to work? Car (30-40 minutes to work)

Cars are provided for transportation to work. Estimated cost is $30 – $45/week. Lifeguards are responsible for fuel. We recommend having a driver’s license.

Location of pools and housing: Suffolk County – no more than a 20-25 min drive

Pick-up at the airport: Not provided.

Lifeguards should arrive to Babylon by train and the employer will take them to the office.

This employer is located in West Babylon, NY on the south shore of Long Island. You will find the world’s most beautiful beaches, great wine from local vineyards, golf courses, sporting events and other interesting attractions on Long Island.
