Job descripton

This employer is a locally owned and operated pool company with over 18 years of managing lifeguards. As a company we are very focused on safety and customer service at all of the facilities we manage.

To ensure that all lifeguards are comfortable and confident in their skills, we hold weekly in-service training to allow adequate practice as well as to have time for any questions or concerns about skills and pool rules to be addressed.

Students must complete the StarGuard Elite certification on site in the USA, in addition to the American Red Cross certification. This certification is for free. Students will be assigned an online StarGuard Elite training, which takes about 6–8 hours to complete. Once they arrive they will attend a 4-hour in-person review course, where their StarGuard Elite knowledge will be reviewed, and their American Red Cross Lifeguard certification will be checked to ensure they are fully qualified.

Transport and location

Pool locations: Atlanta, GA and the surrounding suburbs (Brookhaven, Buckhead, etc. )

Atlanta is a big city with an extensive network of suburbs and towns. Our pools are located all over Atlanta and the surrounding areas. Pool assignments are based on your level of English, arrival and departure date, and number of students in your travel party.

How to get to work? Bike, Car, Scooter, Uber, Marta

We try to find an apartment within 5 km from the pool assignment.

Marta: Atlanta’s public transportation system is called Marta. Marta is a great way to get around the City of Atlanta. It is not recommended to use Marta outside of the city center. http://www.itsmarta.com

Bike: Some locations work great for a bicycle. An inexpensive bicycle and helmet can be purchased for $150+.

Car: If you purchase a car, Sweetwater can assist you with registration and purchasing insurance.  Usually 4 students purchase a car together and use it for the summer. Average cost of a used car in good condition is $1,800 to $2,500 plus insurance.

Scooter: Sweetwater can help students who would like a scooter and deduct the cost from their paycheck.  The scooter and helmet can cost $700 to $1000. The scooter is yours to sell at the end of the summer.

E-Scooter: The city of Atlanta has E-scooters you can rent with docking stations around
town.

Uber: Many of the students choose to use Uber to get to work. This taxi service is inexpensive and available in all locations.

Pick-up at the airport:

Employer will pick you up at the airport and take you to your housing provided you arrive between the hours of 7am and 10pm.  Sweetwater must have your itinerary one week in advance. At the end of the summer, they will provide transportation to the airport.  If you are traveling before flying out of Atlanta, Sweetwater can store your luggage at the office.
